Dolby content from media player to soundbar

I'm not sure if I'm posting on the right category. I'm enjoying my Polk Audio Magnifi MAX SR - especially with Netflix - on my smart TV. It knows to recognize which tv show uses dolby digital, and transmits it, and it's awesome.
Also, today I discovered that you can connect a meda player to the soundbar via HDMI and the soundbar will show it on the tv (Polk magic!)
My question is: if I connect a media player with dolby digital (for example, Xiaomi MI BOX)... will the soundbar play it, like with the smart TV app? of course only in the case the movie\show uses dolby.

When the Sound Bar is connected to a TV that is not compatible with HDMI (eARC), you can only play Dolby Atmos format content output from a playback device, such as Blu-ray Disc Player. You will not be able to play Dolby Atoms format content output from the TV.
