Just as an aside, I am not getting rid of JL completely - I have 4 JL Fathoms and 2 cr1.

Figured I don’t need that many.

I have yet to hear a better integrated sub system than a JL with CR1. My next stop would be a pair of REL 25 but I’d wait for the mk2 version before being maybe convinced enough.

I would probably also say, if you’re looking at subs. 1 fathom and 1 cr1 is probably more preferable than 2 fathoms and no cr1 from my experience.

    Mr JV.

I am localish and interested. Any chance for demo? I have been silently buying up audio stuff as of late. If boxed and can’t demo, please let me know. I want to compare them to my kiddos setup first. I have a couple for my kiddos.

    Cheers.

To be more specific. I had the Sopra before but my brother decided to take it from me. So I am interested in the Kanta to compare. Also interested in your subwoofer for an outdoor theater I am building.

    Cheers.

    Hey Halen
Hard to compare to sopra when not in same room. I would say sopra is better, obviously for a premium or twice the price.
For the sub, an outdoor theater probably requires an outdoor sub.

Thanks Mister. It is outdoors, the 20 foot screen but the rest of the "theater" part is in a nook in my back patio. I do not really care much for theater audio quality but just make decent sound. Also for kids to have friends over and have movie night outdoors.

Looks like I was a tad bit to slow on this one. Would have been killer to have those subs outdoor.

    Cheers mate!

The dual jl might be not the best route
Probably best you need more headroom and a more non glossy and friendly finish.

Dual pb16 is what I would do.

Indoor speakers in the outdoors will last a few weeks before the enclosure seams pop from expansion and contraction
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Not necessarily. I have some rt15is mounted on my porch under an awning for a couple years I think?!? Then I wiped the dust off and sold them…

That is pretty surprising especially if you like in an area with high humidity and extreme high and low temp

There’s no way I would put a high gloss anything outdoors

Putting and risking an RT15 is different than putting dual jl f113v2 subs with its own amplifier outside. A passive speaker you can run it with indoor receiver, shielding it from outdoor exposure

I mean you could but doesn’t mean it’s not without risk.

    Baller though

Well if the subs don’t sell let me know. I am not looking for twosies but a single.

As for being outdoors. My patio does have temp regulation to a certain point and this time of year is not humid. Anyhow the only speaker that came apart on me were the LSI9’s wood laminate.

As for the Kanta’s. Still debating. I have a “guest” house designed recently for my back yard. It’s gonna be my “doghouse” for audio or a place for kiddos when they get older.

    Cheers!!

We are not ballers like Halen, haha

But the subs have 2 interested parties for both duals each buyer. I believe they are sold.

Think about it, when you sell your home, it sells faster when paint over all those rooms you colored to your liking to base white or cream. Speakers same thing, when you buy off the norm colors you limit your potential buyers.

I love the Kanta in blue (and the flax drivers). It makes a statement, draws attention to itself, doesn’t need to hide in shame.
    Alea jacta est!
