This is no longer for sale. I am being told on usaudiomart from a few people this is fake. That serial number 7127 is what was used for fakes.

I bought this on usaudiomart December of ,2020. Im trying to find the sellers email address. I also flagged the original add hopping usaudiomart might kick in even though it has been a while. https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649676745-shunyata-cobra-power-cable-15m/

This is the add i bought it from.
I wonder if the seller knew they were fake. I'm sooo ticked off right now. That's an expensive lesson on fake shunyata cables.

I thought the patented pending was kind of odd personally, looks like they all say that. Very strange

I hope this doesn’t come across the wrong way because I would be ticked as well, but at least it sounds good. Not the greatest bright side, but it would really stink if was if it was a fake and it sounded terrible.

You’re a good man for pulling the ad. Best of luck in possibly getting something done from when you originally purchased it. Slim chance I know, but maybe.

Contact customer service at Shunyata first. They'll be interested since their cables are not easy to fake.

I don’t think so much that they have their own serial numbers as much as they use the same serial number on every cable. I read about this a while back while reading about WBT connectors. Makes sense when you consider the mass production in counterfeiting.

Just like with phishing and its language/grammar errors, we’re going to be in trouble when counterfeiters catch on to the telltale signs.

I choose to look at the bright side.
The cable was good enough for Brian to want to go up the ladder, so it must have some redeeming qualities.

I emailed Shunyata pictures and called and left a voicemail. I was taken for a lot of money because I didn't research the fakes. One of the folks on usaudiomart said the seller's tara cable was also a fake. This is the last time I buy a cable without more research on fakes. I never thought about Shunyata having fakes out there. While the cable really did sound good in the system, I wondered what a better one would do or a different one. I put my Cullen Crossover back in and I felt it was more open sounding where the fake cobra had more bass to it.

Orrrrr, maybe you have the original 7127 ?!? :)

I think we've probably all been ripped off at some point. Doesn't make it any easier, I know, and it's a sucky feeling. It's pretty big of you sharing all this information with everyone here so that we can all learn from your experience.

Interesting, as others have mentioned, that you're hearing improvements with it. I'm wondering if this is one of those instances where it's not necessarily an imitation counterfeit, but one where the design has been stolen, and while not authorized, still manufactured using the same materials? I forget what this type is called.

Shunyata customer service is fantastic! They emailed and called me both. They said they have seen over the past year or so a big influx of fake Shunyata products. If you are buying used, email them INFO@SHUNYATA.COM with the link of the product or call them and they will verify if it is a legit product. Mine is a fake for sure.

    Morning Brian,

Thank you for your email and the attached photos.

I reviewed these images with productions and researched the serial number and unfortunately this does not appear to be an authentic ZiTron Cobra. Not only did we not have this serial number in our records but the IEC used on this cable is not the type we used and the labels also differ.

If in the future you do end up considering more products on the used market please provide me with the serial number(s) of the products and I will research them here before you purchase them.

All the best to you and yours,

@msg it really didn't sound that bad actually. The bass was quite thick where my Cullen Crossover I think is more balanced. Less bass but more open. So it could be a copy made with the same material but, I can't resell it now. The initial improvement I heard on it was vs the Wireworld Electra 7. That is why on the sale of the Electra i said I do not recommend it in the amplifier position. The Electra 7 sounded great on a dac, transport just not the amplifier end. I would totally recommend the WW Electra 7 on anything but an amplifier. Very good sounding cord. So between that and the fake Cobra on the amp, the Cobra has more bass and punch to it but, close on the top and midrange as the WW 7.

Sorry about that. Someone may have cut the ends off a fake PS Audio cable and put some "dressing" on before selling that one.

Excellent advice to contact them first.

Nope, PS Audio uses a different pattern on their covering and their power cords aren't that fat.

A few years ago PSAudio reached out to me acknowledging that someone was selling counterfeit PerfectWave AC-12 power cords on the 'gon, I had bought 2 of them.
PSA had me send them in for verification, and indeed they were not legit.
PSA sent me 2 new AC-12s and no charge. Great customer service
