Listening to Animals right now in 192kHz, 24bit via Qobuz. Looks like the inevitable remix ocurred. Dogs Track 2, there are sounds that were very prominent that are now very low in the mix. Hope they did better on the other ones. May take getting used to but I don't think so. Overall volume is lower as well. Can't wait to check out Meddle and DSM.

I didn't mean to sound negative. Track 3, Pigs (Three Different Ones)....the wood block knocks are oh so clear 🤣

Much more impressed with the mix in Meddle. Seamus (the dog) sounds awesome. Echoes sounds better than I ever heard it. Nice texture in the drums and extra clarity.

I wished they would have spent more time releasing these on SACD.
DSOTM and WYWH was a good start, too bad they didn't do a few more.

Perhaps they will come out soon. Apparently I'm late to find out about this because they were all dumped onto the scene without any pre announcement of any sort on Tue! I'm reading about it over here and it seems these are the 2011 Remasters by Guthrie/Plante which I am not as familiar with. The original masters were by Doug Sax. I think that is the Animals I prefer and was used to hearing. These are significantly higher dynamic range and that is very enjoyable. They are saying maybe 3dB more . https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/pink-floyd-in-hi-res-at-hdtracks.1113680/page-2 Curiously, Qobuz seems to have removed the non hi res versions. Perhaps they want to sell lots of the hi res ones and don't want any unfavorable comparisons on the mastering/mixing?

^^ One that I haven't listened to much, if at all. Listening to it now in hi-res (24bit, 96kHz) and I must say I agree. The bass is impactful, to say the least! Certain ones don't seem to be available (on Qobuz) in 192kHz; DSOTM, The Wall, and this one, as far as I know so far.
