CD player no analog preamp

Having nice Sony CD player from the early 90’s I do remember that nice sound. Haven’t owned that or any cd player in probably 25 yrs. I’ve been thinking about buying an either old or new Marantz or an older Sony CD player.

My issue is, the only dac/preamp I have is the NAD M51, which only has digital inputs. So even if I bought any digital out CD player, the dac used would be from the NAD correct?
In order to use the CD players’ dac it’d have to be analog out?

And would there be any upgrade using a cd player compared to streaming Qobuz through Auralic Aries le to NAD M51anyhow?

Qobuz has both CD-quality and high-res (e.g., 24-bit) albums for many artists, so the latter would should technically sound better.
