Good for them, I'm hoping more industries follow. I mean it sucks for the flyers or others affected by it. This is what needs to happen for this shot mandate.

Both sides denying it, both the FAA and the airline for public relations and the pilots union because it would be in violation to stage a sickout. Pretty obvious that it is, despite the author's stupid *conclusion* at the end of the article. Typical *fact checker* lol.

The two incidents have nothing in common.

One was a strike that affected flights worldwide because air traffic controllers demanded more money and the President at the time had had enough, so he issued an EO to get their butts back to work. Those that didn't go back? Well, they lost their job and could no longer work in that profession anymore. That was all about money and ATC's holding the entire airline industry hostage in order to get it.

The second (most recent), people are staying out of work because they are being FORCED to do something that may not be in their best interest. I'm not going to get into the "side effects" that you can get from a shot but it does include death as a side effect. Read that last bit again.

Yeah, BIG difference between being forced to do something against your will and holding the entire airline industry hostage because you want more money.

What was it with this stuffed bear you alluded to earlier and poking it? It just seems to me that Uncle Sam is poking the bear and the bears are taking a stance. If you back a bear into a corner, it will react.....violently if need be.

Wasn't the whole point to distance so to not overwhelm hospitals until the curve was flattened?

Well yea but this is a new curve, same as the last curve but worse, so until the "new" curve comes to flatten the old curve this new curve will not flatten until the reverse curve.....

The obvious question that most are not asking, is if it WAS as Southwest says (weather and air traffic issues), then why weren’t Delta, United, etc affected?

Can anyone confirm if Jacksonville air traffic controllers walked off because they refused the vax? They allegedly came out and said that's why they left, which could be why it didn't make the news.

I heard this a few days ago, haven't confirmed it.

    From the article:
Southwest claims the weather disruption started on Friday, and the delays and cancellations cascaded into the weekend. The airline said it hoped to reset its operations through Sunday and restore normal service as soon as possible.

“We experienced weather challenges in our Florida airports at the beginning of the weekend, challenges that were compounded by unexpected air traffic control issues in the same region, triggering delays and prompting significant cancellations for us beginning Friday evening,” a spokesperson explained in more detail.

Looks like some pretty nasty stuff going down the east coast of FL that afternoon.

It might be illegal to strike like that so I'd be surprised to hear anyone saying anything out loud

Correct....."walkout" is probably not the correct term, but the rumor mill was refusing the vax, which resulted in the "workforce reduction"

Causing people to already have their employment terminated unfortunately. I know a local hospital just fired around 200 people last month because of their refusal. So sad that half this country doesn’t see the issue with the mandate. It’s okay to be for or against the vaccine but, when you start telling folks what they must do to their bodies to be able to provide for their family something has gone too far.

    Shocked I tell ya
  • United Airlines CEO was on the tube this morning. Out of 67k employees 286 refused the jab. They are in process of being fired.

Congratulations to those 286 workers! Now they can move on to bigger and better things.

Onto another point....if only 286 workers refused the jabs, then why so many flights cancelled? Somebody needs to get the story straight....their narrative keeps changing.

I flew American last Thursday and then again on Sunday (to/from Atlanta). First time I've EVER had smooth, on-time flights with AA! Sorry, but I did not see any noticeable amount of cancellations or even delays on AA's arrival/departure boards in one of the countries busiest airports on Sunday. Musta been a dark cloud lingering over the SW planes and terminals...

I will say that the Atlanta area did get hammered with lots of rain on Wednesday and Thursday (as witnessed by tons of standing water and as detailed by my friends), so there is that...

It’s really hard to believe only 286 out of 67k people were not vaxxed. They must have the highest vax rate of any company by far. Unless there were a ton more people who got exemptions that they didn’t bother to include in the numbers.
