We had this man's story posted a few months ago. He went where many of us can only dream of going.

He was involved with every detail of the room, stereo, clocks and helped / or construct it too.

    I hope he's still listening.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Yes, I wish the best for him as well. I don't know why I didn't find your post when I originally searched before posting this one. I did find it the second time.

A few of his tape related items have been offered on the Reverb site, mostly Ampex.

What does that mean? He’s parceling out his system?

I'm sure somewhere there's a statistic that says he died of COVID. Or do they not do that anymore?

    WOW...
    This was powerful.

When he started talking about how his children helped, he started to lose it which did the same to me.

    What an accomplishment.
My only wish is, this man was able to enjoy the fruits of his labor as much as possible.

Yeah it’s unfortunate he passed before he really kinda settled in. I felt like the majority of the time, he was exploring and experimenting. It’s something I definitely would rather not do when I advance in age. The gear is cool, but if I can just sit back and not think of upgrading, I think that’s when you know you’ve really been successful.

    RIP

A friend sent me a Washington Post article about Ken Fritz today. His obsession damaged his family relationships. I’d link it but I think that you need to subscribe in order to read it.

I read that article this morning. Interesting read I wasn't expecting to see. Sad end to his life and his obsessions, but I suspect the family dynamics with his son would have turned out to be the same with the stereo obsession in the mix or not. The article kind of drags the guy through the mud for no good reason that I can think of other than curiosity about how the house and the audio system in it ended up.

I read an article about him today. I think his entire system only brought about $165K or something like that. His son that he disinherited sounded like a dick.

I too read the WAPO article about him today. Interesting read. I hope I am never into anything that much to ruin relationships with my family.

His story is somewhat a shame....and gives audiophiles a bad name IMO.

I read the article (Thanks @bcwsrt) and some of the comments as well. This one cat summed it up well for me.
