DB6502 Crossover Tweeter Attenuation???

I've recently installed a pair of DB6502's. I'm confused about the tweeter attenuation in the crossover. As shown in the image below, the manual shows you can adjust the tweeter level by placing the jumper at the 0dB, +3dB or +6dB options. But what exactly does each mean??? I get that 0dB means no attenuation, but does +3dB mean it will attenuate the tweeter by 3dB or boost it by 3dB????

The settings decrease the tweeter's output by 3 or 6dB, the "+" should have been a "-" sign.
