Their 7 month run is over. Our CC is clearing out the Rti's. The Csi5 is gone including the display model. One Csi3, plus the display. Rti8's/10's are now each $200 less per pair.

Letting people know so they might catch a good deal on a display model.

Regards,
PolkThug

I would like a pair of 10's also. Is shipping going to be an issue? I am in Dallas.

I have checked a couple of the stores here and the cheapest I can find is $249 each for the 8's and $349 each for the 10's. If I can get the 10's for $200 for the pair that would be great.

It's 200 LESS for the pair, not the pair total, otherwise I would buy them all and ebay **** them. :D

Go to CC and have them check the quantity left, and if there is none, make an offer on the display models.

That sounds about right then. At the price I listed is $100 off each, so that would be $200 per pair. Smart ain't I?

Thanks for the heads up, I have had a lot of luck negotiating prices for open box and display items at CC.

Now THAT was a short product cycle. What's the replacement for them?

The RTi's aren't being discontinued. CC's just moving them out in favor of the new Monitor series. Check the "new products" section on the Polk home page.

They (the RTi line) will be sold at Tweeter (along with the LSi).

CC will pickup the new Monitor series line.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I see, those are some nice units, finally an MTM array. Are they supposed to be a 'better' speaker than the RTi's, or just different? I see they do not use the same Vifa tweeters.

I think, product-wise, the Monitors are between the R's and the Rti's.

Has anyone found any Rti12's in any CC store. I had to settle for the 8's but would of loved the 12's. The floor model 12's in CC were all beat up. I am in the NY metro area. Do you think a CC store would ship them to me if I purchased them over the phone ??

Please let me know how you think this will sound

    Front: Rti8
    Center: Csi3
    Rear: Rti6

I was planning on getting Rti4 for rears but CC was all sold out. Anyone know of a good subwoofer that will compliemt this setup..

    Thanks for the input!!!

I think CC never carried the 12? On the website, all they had was the 10.

They had the 12's in the store and I think briefly on the .com.

Welcome to Club Polk, jmzoot. Don't let anyone piss you off too bad. ;) There's a lot of great info here.

    Thanks for the welcome....

Glad I found this site because I am sure I will have plenty of questions on setting up this equipment.

I called Polk he oher day and the rep advised me that the Monitor series is a step down from the Rti but a step up from the R series.

I think I got a pretty good deal:
    Rti8/450pair
    Rti6/234pair
    Csi3/135

Went by Circuit City in La Mesa today (just outside of San Diego), and their RTi line was on sale for clearance as well. The 8's were $500 a pair, the 12's were $800 a pair (that's $400 off!) and the 10's were curiously just as much as the 12's, but for open box. That doesn't make sense. CSi 3's were only $150, but I think they were all out.

SVS or HSU, I would lean to SVS given that I have one and first hand experiance. The SVS will put out all and more then you will ever need. There are some here who also feel the HSU will give you that also and will let them ring in on that one. Start a thread in the sub topic and they and I will give you our 2 cents.

    I did.......:D

    This isn't a review by any means, but just a few quick thoughts/comments/observations (they're bi-wired off my B&K AVR307):

    1. One of the plastic pieces on one of them is cracked(the piece at the base with the logo on it). Not a visible crack, but one that when you push on the plastic it bends. I think they could completely do without that piece, because to replace it is a matter of digging around inside the cabinet to loosen the screws from the inside. Having been through that hell with replacing the pwoer port on my RTi38, I can say that doesn't appeal to me at all.

    2. The way that they're packaged indicates you should open them from the bottom so that you can attach the feet, then turn them upright and viola......only problem is that while they have you opening the bottom of the box first, they put the bags on the speakers so that the sealed end is at the end you open, and they are taped closed around the top, so you can't even slide the bag off from the bottom. Being anal about packaging myself, I flip-flopped the speakers a few times so that I could preserve all packaging. Minute but irritating detail......

    3. LOVE the height/depth of these things(though I could even see them being wider). None of the towers as of late have given me that presence that my RT16's have with big beefy cabinets. Grills are off and the look of all those drivers is HOT!!!!

    4. Not a huge fan of the fact that the difference between the main drivers went from 7.5" to 5.25". I'd prefer that they used at least 6.5" drivers for the mids....

    5. They only had black, which although it matches all my other speakers, I wanted to get the Cherry just for something different. I've dealt with a supervisor at Fry's before when I had bought my cs1000p that might be able to hook me up with the Cherry versions as a price match. The only reason that's worth mentioning is that they are RIDICULOUSLY strict about their price matching MUST be for the same color and model speakers......to me, that's total BS....oh well

    6. On some of the songs that i've been playing, the bass seems to be boomy at times. They're not as blended as the 16's, and i shouldn't have to make any modifications on the B&K between the two since it's just a 2 channel thing right now. The heaviness of bass on some things reminds me of powered towers, except that I don't know how you'd adjust the bass output on these.....

    7. Some of the speaking parts on a Music DVD I watched part of sounded really flat. That might have to do with some break-in, but haven't heard speaking sound so flat like that in a long time.

I haven't turned them up **too** loud, but it's somewhat late and I'm goin outta town tomorrow for the week. I'll have to check them out a lil more next weekend. I might just leave them playing at a low volume for the week just to let them play. That a bad idea?

    Hey there brettw22 ,

Wow , thanks for the offer even at short notice . I did not see your offer till too late , but I still REALLY appreciate the thought ;) .

On a good side note .... thanks to the peeps here at the forums that even posted the deal(s) of the RTi10/8/6's , LSi7's etc , cause I just traded in my CC demo RTi28's and picked up the LAST new pair of 6's for an added $130+tax ($260 ) . So all-inall things still worked out fine .

Godda say , everyone at this forum is "top-notch" for all the cool offers on helping others with grabbing some nice deals around here . This kind of "family" atmosphere is hard to find (except and including overclockers.com) .

My hats off to ALL of you here .

    Thanks again , stereo55

    *EDIT*
There is one open-box pair of RTi6's left at the Calif , Pasadena store if anyone is interested . I always just saw these as "display models" and not demos , and they seem to be in XINT cond .
