Ok folks....as Carolina PF gets closer, I'm all in to make this a memorable event.
(Yes, Russ, I got the alcohol covered)
Looking for some input.......Question for Friday evening. Would people rather do this at my house or would we prefer to gather at a restaurant (we could do it at my restaurant...it's convenient to hotels and my house and I can make sure we have the space locked in and I pick up the tab). We've done this both ways and I'm fine with it either way. The advantage to doing it at my house is that it's more of a drop in/drop out thing but, again, I'm easy.....what do you guys think?
Saturday.....Fest Day. We generally crank up around mid morning. (PLEASE. Do NOT show up at 8am LOL). I'll be BBQing pulled pork and doing a Lowcountry Boil. We generally Fest well into the evening and there will be PLENTY to eat and drink.
Second. Gear. Is anyone planning to bring any gear?......A couple things, I could probably use another amp. I want to have 3 rigs set up and I have everything except a decent amp fo the third rig.....also, if ANYONE coming has a pair of CRS stands that they could bring, that would solve a problem for me.
My stationary rigs have the Carver Amazing Plats and Bozak Concert Grands. Those aren't moving. The third rig is fluid. I have Polk's, Thiels and Magnepans available to rotate. If I can swing a pair of Legends, that is kinda my plan.
The Githens Center. We've always done a raffle for the Githens Center. If I can procure a pair of Legend bookshelves at a decent price....it will be those. If NOT, probably a pair of nice CRS's....and perhaps a few other goodies. But, we will raise some money for the Githens Center.
Logistics. If you are looking for a hotel......look for something adjacent to Ashley Phosphate Road and/or the Airport. The airport is 10 mins away and there are hotels in the vicinity that are easy in/easy out. If anyone is flying in and you need a ride, I can probably do that for you (if you don't Uber).
Also, Flea Market type stuff.....I'm probably going to offer some of my gear up and some LP's.....I got to thin the herd a bit. If anyone wishes to bring stuff to sell, that's fine by me.
I'm really starting to get pumped about this, I hope you guys are too.....we've got some old Polks coming (no longer on the forum). For this that remember Micah....he's a solid possibility as well. It's shaping up to be a great event.....if you are on the fence, you should really consider coming!
If you have questions, comments or complaints.....lemme know. If it's something you would like to discuss privately, PM me and I'll shoot you my cell #
Cheers,
Troy

Wow, I haven't seen or spoken to Micah in years. Cool!
I'll be staying here. It's more like a resort than a hotel, reasonable rates and comes with a full kitchen, pool, laundry, exercise center and BBQ grills for those who may be interested in making your trip longer, so that you can enjoy all that Charleston has to offer (above and beyond the 'Fest). This is where we stayed last time and everything was clean and well above par from the norm. They also have remodeled the joint in the past two years. FWIW.
Oh, they also have a Cracker Barrel and an I-Hop within walking distance if you are still too drunk to drive Sunday morning.

I'm totally okay with Friday night at Breck's....but you and TLW shouldn't be footing the bill, if that's the case. I was gonna eat there, regardless if that's the route we go or not.
As far as the stands are concerned? I have a pair that we can use for the event but they are not CRS stands. Not quite sure what those are but if you need bookie stands that are about 2' tall? Consider that off your list. I can bring mine.

Just don't drop them......

Yes, the Staybridge is definitely a good choice!
PF is my treat and your money is no good at the restaurant LOL.....
The CRS stands are a bit taller, IIRC. They work best at ear level....I think Abernathy has a pair he can bring but stay tuned.

I have it saved on my phone because otherwise you really have to dig through the bowels of the internet for it….

It's not something Tom or the people that were there really want to remember. The speaker was destroyed and James was badly injured. Yes, I was there.Political Correctness'.........defined
