Suggestions for daughter's stereo

So, my daughter has moved....again. Each time she moves she winds up in a larger place. She tells us this is the final move. She now has a decent sized bedroom that she wants a stereo for, something bluetooth capable. At first I was thinking something like a JBL Extreme but portability is not needed and she has a budget of around $500. I have an Archer A320 we use when travelling that sounds decent at a much lower price point. I'm wondering with only a $500 budget would something like the JBL or Archer be the way to go?

Well, I found an old Sony receiver and until we can decide on speakers she will use a pair of Niles outdoor speakers. So, my question is much more simple now.

What device would you suggest that I can plug into the receiver so she can stream Itunes and Pandora from her phone?

Unfortunately, I cannot help with the 'streaming' interface, other than the lowest-common-denominator approach (i.e., a bluetooth gizmo), which would not be a great way to go.

Very similar to the top one. Decided on this for the bluetooth streaming. I tried talking her out of wireless but she's stuck on it. Apparently this one makes the best of it when paired with a iphone:

Now onto searching for decent speakers she can afford. She likes floor standing but not adverse to smaller ones on a stand. Told he to keep saving $$ as I don't think she'll find much for $400 unless we get lucky in the used market.

If all she wants is streaming, then two HomePod minis can be paired for stereo sound. Total cost is $200. They won’t even need her iPhone once paired. They’ll use all of her playlists or personalized “stations” without the phone being present.

This will be a lot like Sonos, but cheaper, and more versatile (no need to interact with the iPhone to play etc.).

Interesting, had not given amped speakers a thought. Anybody heard these or similar ones?
