They are there to provide a convenient connection for owners who are using a speaker level input from their receiver instead of a line level connection. Speaker level from their receiver to subwoofer, speaker out connections to speakers.

Hello,
Welcome to Polk's forum. The amplifier that is built into the subwoofer will only power the subwoofer not any external speakers. You will need some kind of external amplifier to power the speakers. -
then why speaker out terminals are there in woofer

Speaker terminals are provided for hook up flexibility. Example: Some passive subwoofers also provide high pass filters allowing connection from AV receiver to subwoofer, subwoofer to small satellite speakers.
