Hi, a few months ago, I opened a ticket for my hts12 which stopped working, it was diagnosed as defective amplifier board, This week my replacement board arrived, but they sent a hts 10 board (it says hts10 in the back), by the looks of it, its the same size of the hts 12 board, can I still use it ?

Thanks SeleniumFalcon, this was shipped internationally , I hope it works .
I'll attach some pictures, the transformer seems to be different:
On the left the hts10 board they sent me, and on the right Its the original factory hts 12 board:

Jesus who vomited all over the inside of that board? That looks horrible!!
Looking at the specs it is HALF the power as you HTS12
Peak Power 200 Watts
Continuous Power 100 Watts HTS10
Peak Power 400 Watts
Continuous Power 200 Watts HTS12
I'd want the HTS 12 board since that is what you paid for !! -
The two boards are similar, but the equalization is different for each woofer and enclosure. I'm asking my friend what would be best to do. Unfortunately the HST12 amplifier is on back order status.

Thanks, if you need any extra info, like original ticket number or order number let me know.

Hi, @SeleniumFalcon , any updates on this ?
-
I haven't received any, it might be best to send an email to: Kim.Jasper@soundunited.com and ask what's best.

Thank you , I'll write there. Even if equalization is different, do you know if its "safe" to use it in the meantime?

Sure, what can go wrong...

Nothing will go wrong. The sub may just sound way off. The drivers have different parameters, the box is bigger and you have half the power to the driver. -
thanks @pitdogg2 , that's what I figured . It's better than nothing while I wait for a definitive solution . Just wanted to know if I could damage it .

Yeah be careful mixing drivers with plate Amps. Sometimes the ohm load is way different. I've seen 64 ohm (or something equally crazy) drivers for these pre built subs- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

l3stel, I've just stumbled onto this old thread and was curious if you got your HST12 amp? I have a failed amp on a HTS10 and curious if you had to return the HTS10 amp? or otherwise might be able to part with it?

The OP hasn't been here in a year...
