I have an old mx1000 in need of some love. Years ago the local dealer told me a few parts he couldnt find so he was no help. I have emailed Legendary Amps about it, but got no response.
It has sat for 10 years in need of repair. Its time! I replaced it with a Yamaha MX-D1, which is stunning, but I still want this classic power horse running again.
Any advise, help, or suggestions are welcome as I cant seem to find anyone to restore it.
Thanks

what's wrong with it?

I heard a pop, then silence. The protection light is on now.

I'd guess power supply issue (pops are often if not usually capacitors letting go)-- but it's a guess (at best).
Might want to go ask at https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php
I think they might even have a dedicated Yamaha forum. -
Talked to a (retired Yamaha factory service tech) friend of mine. Bad news, probably not power supply but amp itself. No light if ps. "When they let go they usually cascade and take complete amp out. Several hundreds in parts (minimum) same in labor, he has one himself and won t fix it.Main Rig:
