Polk 5JR with Peerless from Monitor 7?

Hi all. I'm finding myself with a dilemma. I have a pair of Monitor 5jrs with what I think are SL2500 tweeters.
I acquired a pair of Monitor 7s with peerless tweeters which I understand are the nicest ones to have. I got them ultra cheap. For $60 including a mint Denon receiver and a Klipsch sub. It was a killer deal.
The issue is that the Monitor 7s are really darn large. Probably too large for me to fit in my listening space.
Therefore I'm wondering: would placing the Peerless tweeters in my 5JR speakers make them sound better?
Would the tweeters from my 5JRs go into the Monitor 7s as well so I can sell them after all this?
Thoughts?

Post some pictures, but the cut out opening between the SL 2500 and Peerless is going to be different. IMHO there is no comparison between the 5's and 7's. The 7's are far superior. Make the 7's work.

I was afraid someone was gonna say that. I'm going to try. I know they're amazing and they'll probably blow me away.
I haven't listened to them yet because one had a seized driver so I had to buy a replacement on eBay which I'm gonna install tomorrow.
Will post my findings! -
Like @Faustin mentioned the tweeter cutout is far different. If it is a sl2500 those can be replaced with the RD-0198 tweeter which is a very good tweeter itself.

Your 5jr is a Series 2 model. The Peerless is not an option to use in those speakers. However, as Pitdogg2 noted you can use the RD0198, an excellent tweeter.Political Correctness'.........defined

Faustin you weren't kidding. I just finished the repair and hooked them up. Dang these things sound good! I'm definitely gonna have to make them work.

Made it work
Barely. But it works. These are amazing.

The door is locked. Only the other one is used to enter and exit the room

Very good. Glad you are liking them. From the looks of them, they are pretty early 7's. My guess 1978 or 1979.

I know they need better stands but this is what I have right now. I may custom make some myself at some point.

What Denon integrated is that? Looks cool.

Denon PMA-500v. With custom made walnut side panels to replace the beat up originals which were particle board with vinyl decals.

A friend had these stands sitting around and gave them to me. WAY better. Looks much closer to the original Monitor 7 setup. They now sound way better as well. Loving it.
