The Ears Aren’t What They Used To Be…

@Mike Reeter
What are you looking at for a year cost in batteries alone?
Do they not make them with rechargeables yet. I’ll start searching after I hit send.
I’m curious what the audiologist has to offer besides online direct or even Costco. I’ll pay the money for the right feature set, just don’t want to spend a fortune.
How often have you bought new devices?Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -

I can't help you with the battery cost on the small aids. I had a friend who used the small, in the ear aids and he stated the batteries were pricy. But that was years ago, I'm sure by now they offer a rechargeable option.
I use Duracell batteries in mine, an 8 pack will last about two months.
Closing in on six years with my current set, that came with a five year warranty. During the warranty period I would take them in and have them cleaned and checked out, the service was include with the purchase.
When my current pair give up, I'll be looking for a rechargeable model. I'm sure these are hyper expensive, but I'd like to try a pair.

I just looked for the closest Costco. Only about an hour, but I can’t tell if they have a hearing lab nor do I have a membership.
Costco will let you in to check things out without a membership just ask. They will make you purchase one if you decide to buy something.

I have my consultation in 2 weeks. I’ve read the good and bad about most scenarios. The one bit of advice is to avoid the online direct. Though convenient and cheaper, they don’t offer the same services as an actual facility.
Maybe that isn’t true, it’s just what I have read and have no real world experience.Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
anecdotal info.
I don't wear hearing aids, but my mom does.
I bought her a pair from Costco about 3 years ago & they have been stellar in their support. To the point of fully replacing one that she broke a wire on at no charge & overnighted it -
Well…the order has been placed.
$5,570 will be in my ears for ~5-7 years when I have to buy new ones, repeated for the duration of my existence. That’s basically the Pass Labs XA30.8 that I always wanted to try. Of course I went for the gusto. It’s only money…
The Audiologist said to me, “but think of how life changing it will be to be able to hear all the sounds/tones you’ve been missing out on!”
My response “Never knew they existed, so I wasn’t missing much.” 🤷🏼♂️Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!
