Ok kids, PF is about 100 days out or so.......North Charleston SC.

    So, got a couple messages from new folks about PF......attendance requirements and so forth.....so here ya go:

    PolkFest is an equal opportunity event....so, if you are reading this, you are welcome to join us.

    Now, here is how it usually works....Friday night folks roll into town and we sorta hang out. An ice breaker, if you will. We can grill out at my house or go out to eat....have a libation or two and just sorta get things rolling. Saturday is the ‘Fest. We eat. We drink. We listen to music.....we generally have 3 rigs set up. 2 of mine and 1 cobbled together with gear folks bring. Now, if you are coming for a super-serious event....you in da wrong place. It’s a party.....We ‘Fest on long into the evening. Sunday AM.....time to go home. Feel free to stop by and chit chat and have a cup of coffee on your way out of town.

    So, that’s pretty much it. We got plenty of hotels within a short distance....so that and travel is pretty much your only worry. TLW and I got the food and so forth from start to finish.....

    Now, the only real requirement is to not be an arsehole and employ some basic common sense. Be respectful and careful with my gear and stuff and that of others and it’ll be fine. If you bring stuff (gear, music etc) keep track of it.....I have had only one issue here, one person was pissed they lost a CD and I didn’t find it....but, again, it’s a GREAT time and don’t worry if you don’t know anyone. We’ll all be spooning by 10pm on Saturday.....remember we all started out as strangers.

    Now, far as gear......More to follow on that but this isn’t (unlike years past) a Polk sanctioned event. So, if you are coming just to hear the new L800’s, unless I hit the lotto in the next month or so...it ain’t happening. No Polk Swag. Now, I’m working on Polk Paul and Al Ballard but it’s probably not in the cards.....so if you are coming to rub elbows with industry insiders, you are going to be disappointed. But, TLW more than makes up for it. I promise.

    Also, this is a spouse friendly event.....we’ve had kids and no problems but understand that there will be drinking and so forth. involved....I also have a English Bulldog and two cats.....not so much the cats, I can’t seem to run them off but the dog has his run of the place. He will insist you pet him and share the couch with him. He was here first.....so, just if you aren’t a dog person be aware. He also has lethal flatulence....so if you feed him stuff, we all suffer.
