RM7500 setup w/ Denon 4800 (HELP)

Is anyone running this combo? If so, what is my preferred setup option. I just upgraded to the 4800, and I plan on using line level rather than speaker level inputs this time. My RM manual recommends routing the line level through the sub and back to the receiver and setting the front speakers to "large." The sub would then handle the <80hz bass rolloff via the line level outs back to the receiver for the small front speakers. My question is, is this possible w/ the 4800 b/c I don't see a "Main In" other than the one for 6 ch external in. Would those be the equivalent...I don't get that impression from the manual. I would really like to send the sub more signal than just the sub out so I can use the sub's crossover settings. The manual on the 4800 also claims that setting the sub output to THX- will route LFE to the sub as well as bass that was supposed to go to any speakers designated as small. This sounds like it would be similar to what Polk is recommending as it would send the sub more bass than just the deep LFE, but I am guessing would elminate my crossover functionality since it still wouldn't exactly be a full range signal?? My understanding is that the variable crossover is tied to the speaker level inputs or the line level inputs ONLY and not the LFE input??
any help/advice would be greatly appreciated...

Well, you're right about the variable crossover in the sub functioning with the L&R line in or the speaker level in, but NOT the LFE. Also, just as you suspect, the 6.1 inputs on the receiver won't function like "Main Ins".
Honestly, I think your best option would be to make connections from the "sub out" on the receiver to the "LFE In" on the sub, then in the receiver setup, set the sub to "on" and all the speakers to "small". I say this partly because your receiver should do a very good job with bass management, and the 80Hz crossover should work well with the satellites. I looked at the manual for the RM7500, and the way I read it, it's okay to send the satellites a full range signal. You should try it that way (setting all channels to "large") also. There should be some setting in your receiver's bass management to send, not only the LFE information, but also the bass from the front L&R channels (regardless of their Large or Small setting), to the sub out. That might help with the blending of the sub and sats.
If you want to use the crossover on the sub AND high-pass filter the satellites, I believe you'll have to make speaker-level connections. I don't think the high-pass filter on the sub functions on the Line level outputs.
Try as many of the hook-up options as you can stand. It's worth it to find the best one!
Good luck,

Well, I received the 4800 and I have played with some hookup options, and here is what I have ended up with. I am running line level from the 4800s front preouts to the sub, as well as the 4800s sub out to the LFE input on the sub. W/ the speaker settings set to Small in the config, the sub is getting <80hz as well as the bass info that would have gone to the LR speakers via the LFE input (I don't know what freq range this actually encompasses b/c I don't know where the 4800 rolls off when set to small). Using the line inputs as well sends more info to the sub, and allows me to use the variable crossover (although the effect is minimized b/c the LFE input overlaps the line inputs in freq due to the speakers being set as small). I have tried setting the speakers to large, but the bass response is really stronger w/ them set to small. In the end, the RM7500s really sing w/ the 4800, and I am really happy w/ my purchase.

That's what counts! The speakers set to "small" should roll off below 80Hz, also. I've never really thought about using the Line-In's AND the LFE. Hope you continue to enjoy your new equipment!
