I couldn't be happier that freakin' horse didn't win.

Maybe NOW the local (Filthadelphia) papers and tv will knock-off the 24 hour coverage on....

1. Where Smarty's mom was born.

2. Where Smarty's dad was born.

3. Where is the feed that Smarty eats grown?

4. What is fertilized after Smarty is "done" with his feed, and where is it located?

5 What is Smarty thinking right now?

Get the idea? Invent a stupid question about a horse, and THAT question has probably been raised and addressed at length somewhere around here over the last couple weeks. Front page news I might add.

A city so pathetic it is trying to identify with a horse. America's shithole, Filthadelphia.

Your right, I read an article claiming how this vet should get credit for "saving Smarty's life". This was front page news!!!

    Get a grip...

I thought that was Newark. Ohh nevermind, that's right, it only qualifies as America's armpit.

Well PW, when America needs an ****, Filthy is where they put the hose. Newark is where they let it drain.;)

Newark is no garden spot for sure, but I also don't see it touting itself as a world-class city, which Filthy does constantly.

If you're not familiar with how it works down here, as soon as the Filthy media can make the slightest connection between Filthy, and whatever is semi-newsworthy, it becomes a (trumpet blare and drum roll here) "DELAWARE VALLEY CONNECTION." Once that happens there is no bottom. Nothing is TOO stupid. You have to live it here to fully grasp how pathetic it is.

    Here's a good example....

There's some kind of half-**** bridge that connects part of Filthy, with one of it's outlying districts called Manyunk. Some councilman or something, had a half-assed idea. He ran down to the local hardware store, bought about $89 worth of bridge lights, installed them, and had a grand lighting ceremony and all that ****. The very next Sunday, on the cover of the magazine section in Filthy's largest paper The Filthadelphia Inquirer, was a picture of that bridge all lit up. Know what the headline was on that cover? How about this for nerve? "Philly, The New Paris?" I almost died from laughing so hard. $89 worth of bridge lights and these chumps compare themselves to "The City of Lights?" Gimme a break.

I hear ya ... I am priviledged ?! to get to go to Philly a couple of times a year for business related stuff. That's enough thanks. I'm usually over joyed just to return home in one piece. Fortunately the Philly media doesn't make it up this way.

Wow, I had no idea that people got so carried away with a horse and one race. Thats just excessive. Heres what I have been wondering. Its not big suprise that track and field gets no attention in the United States until the Olympics roll around. Why? Horse racing does. All this attention for one horse race yesterday. Track offers several races, and several distances, and theres even jumping and throwing. Best part yet, during the interviews and press conferences, you can talk to the athletes!!! Not just the snobby face-lifted owner and the trainer, but the actual athlete. When I compare the two I just don't get why horse racing is more popular than track and field.

Only because the sport isn't popular in the US. If it were, I am going to bet that Vegas would have betting on the runners. But, true, there is a high degree of uncertainty in horse racing. Is that the only reason that people watch horses though?
