I was considering Legend L600s. I guess the R700 is worth looking at since it’s the same layout.Main room- RTiA9 x4, CSiA6, in ceiling Atmos RT-70 x4, SVS PC 4000 x2, Marantz 8805A, OPPO 203, Emotiva DR3 G3, Emotiva XPA-2 G3, Emotiva XPA-5 G3, Emotiva X300, Sony 75" 940E, Panasonic Plasma VT50, PS Audio Power Port X2, PS Audio AC-5 x8, AQ Rocket 33 Biwire speaker cables, AQ King Cobra XLR IC, Furman PFi20 W/Cullen cable, SoildSteel S4-4 rack, Gik room treatments

Probably cheaper
I guess I'd want to hear a pair to make sure they're not tipped up at the top end like the rtia line -
Really strange they would use similar drivers to the legend series?- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

There R700 reminds me of the Rt2000 without the amps for sure.
Being 4ohm speakers will be an issue for the receiver crowd too.Main room- RTiA9 x4, CSiA6, in ceiling Atmos RT-70 x4, SVS PC 4000 x2, Marantz 8805A, OPPO 203, Emotiva DR3 G3, Emotiva XPA-2 G3, Emotiva XPA-5 G3, Emotiva X300, Sony 75" 940E, Panasonic Plasma VT50, PS Audio Power Port X2, PS Audio AC-5 x8, AQ Rocket 33 Biwire speaker cables, AQ King Cobra XLR IC, Furman PFi20 W/Cullen cable, SoildSteel S4-4 rack, Gik room treatments

oooh, and they have the vibra-ribbed for aural pleasure midrange cones, too.

Interesting! Looks like classy vinyl with a slight texture wrapped cabinet. They look dark grey to me rather than Midnight Black, but everyone knows truly black speakers are an impossibility.
I would definitely put these in the RTi family for price and product slotting. Are the power ports on the bottom this time? Could be good for placement close to a wall or furniture.
May be Polk's "bread and butter" speaker line that'll help pay for the Legend line's development.
First for Polk L-C-R speaker that's wall mountable for the front soundstage: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_107RSV350/Polk-Audio-Reserve-R350-Midnight-Black.htmlPost edited by Emlyn on -
I don't know if I would call this a RTI replacement? it looks more like a Value version of the Legend line up of speakers.
LCR speaker option with 4- 4" drivers just doesn't have enough volume to sound good, like the Sig 35 center with the 6- 3" drivers, You have to have internal cabinet space, regardless if you add a couple more drivers to it or not, it still sounds thin or small imo.
I understand it sells and people don't have room for bigger boxes, but they do sound so much better imo.
I don't know how they voiced the speaker but the pinnacle tweeter is more of a solid 2 channel linear sound, with a lower sensitivity, When I think home theater speaker, I think, big dynamics & high sensitivity 90 or above, I am sure this is a solid speaker, it just looks like the legends step child, I hope it doesn't sound better then the legend line. It just leaves me kinda Blah & does nothing for me sorry.

Thx for the heads up on this Polk! The key to any good relationship is communication!
@F1nut any chance of a bookie demo? The r200 looks a lot like the l200...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Bedroom 2.1 Harmon Kardon HK3490; Bluesounds Node N130; Polk RT25i; ACI Titan Subwoofer -
I'm wondering if maybe Crutchfield jumped the gun on making those pages active rather than waiting for a product announcement and rollout. That is the first and only place I've seen the new line reported also.
And those R200s are only $699 a pair. That's pretty good for a pair of speakers with a ring radiator tweeter. -
I would like to see Polk release another Reference Home Theater Speaker line with a XLarge Center Channel option 8" inch driver options in a D'Appolito set up, with a soft dome like the morel 378 slightly horn loaded for higher efficiency tweeter, pronounced midrange and clean tight mid bass, Subs can manage 80htz below, metal outriggers & true decoupling spikes.
Oh yeah.. make them real wood veneer and shaped like the RTI series but a little larger, with a 8" driver bookshelves/stand mount option to go with the Dual 8" Tower and dual 8" Center channel with at least 90 DB sensitivity. That is all... I need!

Cabs look kinda meh. Sigs look more modern IMO

I like the grilles.

It’s not really possible to judge the aesthetics from the Crutchfield images, but they do seem a bit basic, perhaps, although the outrigger feet look more premium that the Signature line. I’d have to see — and hear — most speakers above $1K before making a decision.
Comparing the R700 at $2K vs. the L600 at $3.5K, the R700 seems like something of a bargain, but the Legends are more compelling visually, grilles on or off. That’s a matter of taste, of course, and without seeing them — or hearing them — it’s difficult to say either way.
If I were buying today, I’d be tempted to either opt for the Signature S60 at $900/pair (bargain basement for good performance) or skip the Reserve line and go straight to the L600 at $3.5K a pair.
Definitely an interesting development, though. Odd that the information is available from Crutchfield before it’s available from Polk. 🤔Alea jacta est! -

Reserve.. sounds more like a Cognac or single malt imo, not a second from there top of the line Legend speaker line.
Its to bad they went the value Legend way, I was really wanting a speaker to replace the RTI but with similar DNA. RTI still is a solid looking speaker, its great for Home theater and a nice Value imo.
I hope there still waiting to release RTI replacement.

I’m glad I spotted them today. I was thinking I was out of the loop on new products.
I was helping a coworker buy a new setup and WTH is this!
I am still so happy with my RTiA9s for theater. I will keep them for awhile. L600s if I change at this point. Discounts will come later and I will be tempted on them.
I also don’t like that the top new center doesn’t have biwire inputs. I am not changing my speaker wiring again.
