@Kex Maybe I could try Bi-poles. I guess you're right about the 55s are rears, honestly never occured they'd be great shed speakers! (Don't worry my shed speakers are taken care of)

@xschop ARC Port Diameter is 1", Power Port base is 9"x12"
-
I meant the port tube and it's length. SorryDon't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.
-
I cant take out the ARC Port tube as I glued it in after they both fell out. (only thing holding them in was tape and the felt) I'm going to estimate it's 5" long maybe 6"

I meant the bottom Power Port tube length and diameter.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.

@xschop I nailed it every time eh? Haha, I have them torn apart right now but I have no clue how to measure the diameter and tube length of it.
-
lol no problem. Youz Canadians need extra time to digest, like us okies.
I was on the lookout for the RT800's locally, but found some 8TLs to work on.
I was going to try this tweeter in them...

@xschop I honestly love the Tri Lam. Don't understand the hate for it at all. I know that you can twist the magnet clockwise and remove it but then you're stuck with the dome and coil attached to the frame. Good luck replacing them lmao they're gonna be a pain in the **** to do.
-
The whole assembly pops out of the oval frame and the new mag and coil can be adapted. The sl5000 series sound very good IMO.
You should also glue the 3 tabs and perimeter of the tweeter magnets. They also break off easily I have found.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -
@xschop I'm not gonna do any gluing because I want to keep everything as original as possible while making it SOUND better and repairing cosmetics. I wouldn't have painted it if the felt never came off, and also theres already some white foam behind the mid/woofers. I dont think I need open-cell

Welcome to the forum Chris. Cool that you're into modding.
You should reconsider the gluing and and beat of Loc-tite around the magnets where previously recommended above. It's important, and not just to protect against drops, if you want to preserve the drivers for a long time.
Earlier vintage models were prone to magnet shift due to the glue used. Unknown whether this was changed later. Point is, you're modding, and it won't hurt to do these things.I disabled signatures. -
@msg I'll do some Loc-Tite later on this week in that case when I do the Dynamat.
I might attempt the crossover my self unless you advise against that. Also about xschops idea of open cell foam, my 800s have white foam in there already. Is this open cell or stock factory crap? -
The arc port is not a standard port, it is tuned to the resonant frequency of the cabinet- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

@VR3 Cool I didnt know that! Thats Polks innovation showing I guess.
