Anyone Need parts from a PSW1000?

I've got a PSW1000 (black and rosewood panels) that has a bad amp. I wound up with it a few years ago, and the previous owner had replaced the amp. He did a 'what I have laying around' job with it, so the amp isn't up to to the task. I did some research and it looks like the 'best' replacement option was an amp that runs over $400 now. The last thing I need is another sub, so I don't need it even if the amp was less $$$.

Before I pitch it or donate it, thought I'd see if anyone needs drivers or other parts. Cosmetically it is decent, and would blend really well with other Polk gear, like the Lsi series.

If you need something let me know. I'm in the ATL area.

odd question, but would it work if you connected it to the speaker in from an external amp?

As you may recall, the PSW1000 amps were prone to failures. A cottage industry of what to do with them sprung up, and one idea was to replace the plate amp with a blank plate and add speaker terminals to use an outboard amp. So, yes, it would work. An amp designed for sub use would be the best option, since an adjustable high pass filter would be included. If not, a separate EQ device would be needed. Still $400....

Didn't know any of this. I already have a PSW650 that will receive a signal when initially turned on but then goes into standby mode. Also a RT1000 that emits an enormous buzz when I attempt to play anything through it. I have enough to do's or I'd take it.
  • I’m looking for a psw1000 but hoping to find a working unit.
Just curious where you’re located since shipping these is $$$.
Do you have the original broken amp still or no?

  • Sorry. Totally missed that. Do you still have the original broken amp by chance?

Nope. The amp is from some other sub. The guy that had it apparently just bolted on what he had laying around.

By chance, I have one in my PSW1000. Amp is dead but has never left the sub box.
