Cables to connect Crown Amplifier to Polk RtiA9 Towers

I have Crown X2000 that I want to connect out to Polk Tower speaker RtiA9 . But I am not sure what kind of cable I can use. Can I directly connect speaker wire from binding post terminal to Speaker terminals without using any adapters / banana plugs OR is there any kind of cable I can buy ?d50c4s8iuwax.jpg

I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to use just the bare wire to connect amp to speakers.

Another case of the cheap mega watts syndrome resulting in less than ideal sound. Fortunately, there is a cure.

There look to be plastic plugs in the center of your binding posts on your amp - you could remove them and use banana connectors. Or, if you back the binding post nuts out a good deal, there’s probably a hole in the center post that you can feed bare wire through, then tighten the nut back down on the wire.

Hope you like it bright. That combo will make most people run screaming from the room in pain.
  • Thank you all for the tips

Do you mean to say that the amplifier is not good quality to feed Polk Rti? I don't know much about Amplifiers.

Yes sir, that is exactly what I meant. Pro amps are not known for their sound quailty, therefore not really suited for home stereo. You also need realize that your speakers were voiced for home theater with the top end tipped up making the treble a bit bright, so a warmer amplifier would be a very good idea. Many like to mate the RTiA with a Parasound or B&K amp.

Listen to @F1nut. It’s a great amp for driving passive subs or blasting out your neighbors during a backyard bash, but it is I’ll sound pretty terrible with those speakers...

If that's what you have on hand by all means put it to use. It will take banana plugs, spades or bare wire. Let 'er rip & see how it sounds to you. As pointed out in other posts the RTiA series are voiced more towards HT & are not what some might consider polite sounding. The Crown amps are not polite either until you move up to one of their XLS DriveCore 2 Series.
You never know till you try the combo...it might be to your likeing or it might not.

UxOPtive you seem like a smart man, who knows when to take some good advice. I am just reintegrating what these members have already said.
I have demo'ed that Crown amp when they first came out with that line, it has some cool options, cross overs etc.

But that Crown amp is worst then a little bright or harsh sounding, its highs are so rolled off, you are losing large amounts of details in the highs that are critical for HT, you would never know it to listen to it, In the attempt to make the amp less bright, they rolled off a big part of the upper response that is needed for the Home Audio experience.
Crown amps do have a low noise floor compared to most pro amps, but it still sounds like a pro amp.

The Crown is not helping your systems sound at all.. trust them, they know what they are talking about, use that amp for a passive sub, chair shaker or for a side DJ gig at your friends wedding, leave the Home Audio for the home and the Pro for the Bars and Karaoke 🎤..
