True wait for the sale lol. Still looks like it would be a solid unit.

Never forget their trade in offers. Brings it down to $4,500. Still steep though.

An expensive DAC is required to go along with the transport to get what it's capable of. A two box digital system based on that is probably closer to $12K sticker price.

The video indicates the disc drive is sourced from Marantz.

I believe the biggest maker of disc drives stopped making them. Most folks bought their drives from philips IIRC.

I would sure like to try it and the mfg. description sure makes it intriguing. On the other hand, and not trying to be negative, unless someone has a huge SACD collection already, they could buy some 300 or so DSD files for that price. Existing CD collections can be ripped to storage.

I agree with you but there is still many people that feel the physical media sounds better. Recently I have stepped up my dac and storage \ streaming game and its much closer now. With a few more tweaks, I think it will be there however, between the Zen, dac, cables, and re-clocking devices, I am probably getting closer to spending what this transport cost.

It's still nice to know people are making transports that can do sacd.

I've read where PSA was working on a new "Hi End" DAC, could be the litter mate to this new Transport, my guess anyway...either way I'm sure the CDT sounds VERY good.

I hear ya, but you would probably need, or at the very least want, to have all of those things anyways.
