Finally got my surge protector last night!! I went with the Monster Power HTS 2500 MKII. http://www.monstercable.com/power/productPagePower.asp?pin=1020
I have a quick question for others who own Monster Power HTS units. What do you do about those LED's on the front panel? Those little buggers glow so bright, they light up the whole front right corner of the room. Last night, I placed a CD case in front of the LED's to shield them. They are very distracting when the lights are all off, while listening to a CD in 2 channel mode.
I don't suppose this will be a problem with the TV on, but for music, the extra light is a pain.
Overall, I'm very happy with the HTS 2500 in place. Cleaned up the power cables behind the rack very well.
As far as sonic improvement, I didn't notice a huge improvement or anything, but I will say that the treble is more clear. It actually sounds louder as a result of the increased clarity, more distinct. A nice improvement.
For anyone interested, I purchased the HTS from Etronics.com: http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=monmphts2500&store=&catid=4100
They ARE an authorized reseller, I confirmed that with Timothy Pride, from Monster customer service.

You'll get used to the lights after a while, I did. Except the blue one sometimes will catch my eye. Nothing a piece of black electrical tape can't fix. Same problem with my Hitachi, bright blue light right on the front.
