Anyone use wireless surround sound setups? Not headphones but actual speakers.
I dont like playing with big headsets on for sound. I much prefer the sound just being in the room with me.
At the moment I just have a free Sony soundbar and sub that came with my 4k tv. It's better than tv speakers for sure but I'd like to see what's possible with some surround sound speakers.
My problem is I cant be trailing wires around the room and we rent so I'm not gonna go DIY on the carpet or walls etc to try and hide the cables.
I've seen SONOS have a multi room wireless setup but the sound bar and sub alone are £1200 it seems. Then I need 2 more speakers on top for the rear.
Does anyone use a wireless setup? Did it cost you a lot just for it to be wireless? Does it cause any issues with gaming?
I run optical to my current soundbar and the sub is wireless. No problems so far with the sub being wireless but i dunno how rear speakers would perform in games. Or how the setup might even function with films and games.

The wireless systems and adapters from a couple years ago were junk, Brands like Best buys rocketfish and other brands were just garbage stay clear imo.
The Enclave and Platin Monaco seem to be the best options right now, but there is still some caveats. If I was to buy one it would be the Platin Monaco 5.1
I just researched this very technology myself for a Xmas present, I ended up buying something else for my father, but they are getting better with the wisa option.. No firsthand knowledge though sorry, I ended up just giving him a BestBuy giftcard.

Your post started me back reading up on all the wireless 5.1 systems. I'm still looking for something very user friendly & that just works for my parents. It looks like this reasonably priced JBL wireless system is working out fairly well by its Amazon reviews.
