Looking around for a decent tablet

I’m looking for a decent tablet for myself.
I need something bigger than my iPhone X.
Must be an android or iOS device (not sure there are other options but still).
I don’t need it to the latest or greatest. I just need something with around a 10” screen, not slow as molasses.
Since it’s me, need it to be fairly inexpensive (yes I know this requirement conflicts with wanting something fast lol).
And suggestions welcome.

I'm pretty sure samsung had a few options in that 8-10 inch range under $300. I've never used one so I don't know about speed, but I can't imagine it's terrible.Analog: MoFi MasterTracker > MoFi UltraDeck > Sutherland 20/20
Digital: Cambridge CXC / Streaming > Cambridge CXN v2
MastersounD Dueventi > Rosso Fiorentino Certaldo or Arcam rHead > Hifiman HE4XX

Gotcha. That’s a bit outside my (inexpensive) criteria but that doesn’t mean they can’t be purchased used for a much lower price.

Every time I look at tables I quickly lose interest because they just cost more than I'm willing to pay, even used.Analog: MoFi MasterTracker > MoFi UltraDeck > Sutherland 20/20

Why are they so 'spensive?

I went through this exercise a while ago, several times, and I found out that cheap is expensive.
Took me long enough to learn, but I went with a Samsung. I've never looked back
10" Samsung galaxy Tab A7 for about $200 right now at Costco.

I bought a 10” Samsung Galaxy Tab A last year. It was under $300. I only use it for music related things (Audyssey App, Roon and Qobuz). It takes a second to boot up but works very fast with those apps. No problems with it either so far. Much faster than any kindle I’ve had._____________________________________________________________________________________________

I went with the iPad Pro last year, no regrets. Had my share of cheap tablets. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

I too would like a recommendation for a good 10" business tablet. I have a 5-6 year old Verizon Ellipsis 7 tablet that is truly totally worthless. It's so crammed with Google apps (bloatware), you can't add even a few apps before it's 8 GB internal memory is full. It's 32 GB SD card will only hold music and photos, no apps or data can be moved there. My first tablet. It was free on Black Friday with a new phone purchase so I know you get what you pay for! Thanks!Post edited by aprazer402 on

Its hard not to agree with this. Cheap tablets suck and are just maddening. @aprazer402 I use my iPad pro for work purposes and its awesome. This is what I have. I also bought mine on ebay, but it was open box/unused. Get the 1 year squaretrade warranty and its a darn good deal...

I have two iPads, a full size and a mini. The only issue I have had is my full size iPad with Retina display no longer is supported so IOS doesn't get updated. This causes some web sites to not properly display. The iPad Mini is supported and updated so I use it when the full size doesn't work. I guess I should buy a new, current full-size iPad.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
