Hooking up passive subs

I have a couple of SVS passive subs I want to add to my system. I have an older Marantz SR7001 running my other equipment powered by a Sunfire 7400. I want to use my old Sunfire TGA5200 as a sub amp for both the subs (that's all that amp will be used for). I've used this configuration before but can't for the life of me remember how I hooked up the input for the subs, or what port I connected the speaker wires. Any suggestions?

I think it will work great. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Subwoofer preouts from Marantz to sunfire TGA5200 amp inputs then speaker binding posts to sub speaker binding post.

Thanks Pit. The 5200 doesn't have sub binding posts. That's what's got me confused. My Main Gear

Sub binding post?? -
Apologies I guess I was asking which speaker posts to use on the 5200. Does it matter? The options are right front, left front, center, right surround and left surround. There are no posts for a sub.My Main Gear

No modern receiver powers a subwoofer. You want to use the sub preout(s) as @pitdogg2 recommended. If there's only one you'll need a splitter to feed both inputs on your Sunfire 5200.

Okay I do have a splitter so must have figured that out once before. But as far as the speaker wire posts from the Sunfire to the subs which should I use? I'm assuming the front left and right? Also assuming the same inputs that I am feeding from the receiver.Post edited by hockeyboy onMy Main Gear

I saw on line your Sunfire TGA-5200 has current and voltage terminals.
The diagram shows which terminals should power the sub/sMost people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
The diagram suggests to use the voltage source for driving subs. That would imply to use the front left and front right channels since they are the only ones with voltage source outputs. I'll give it a try and let you know how it works. Thanks everyone! My Main Gear
