Are you ready for Christmas?

I just got finished slamming together, quick and dirty like, a Cornhole set for Jackie and the kids. Put the finishing touches on tonight and wrapped it up! What a pain in the tukis! I need to put handles on too but it would have been too difficult to wrap with them so I will add them later. I might have to put rubber strips on the bottoms so they don't slide around or anything. But I'll figure that out later. Just glad they are done and I was able to keep it a secret.

I also got Jackie and the kids a bunch of archery stuff for her crossbow and their recurves.

I also snagged this beanbag...well, cornbag set to go with it! They have actual dried corn in them.

Also, the flags are hand painted, obviously, and covered in 6 coats of polyurethane. When I laid out the flag, I went and found the U.S. code on the flag dimensions. It's not, like, standard dimensions. Everything is a ratio of everything else and it's designed so that no matter what size the flag is, the proportions are accurate. So if it wasn't for the big holes where 3 or 4 stars are missing out of each, they would be actual American flags to the appropriate proportions and displayed correctly for a vertical display when looking at it during play.

I think your issue is not the fascination with the game but the fact every time you see it put together you try to climb in it as it looks like a coffin.

That's because you're old, smell of 'Tussin, and spend most of your time watching reruns of the Statler Brothers to understand a game for the 'yutes.

I've made a couple of sets, but Jstas paint scheme is far to involved for me, though they do look good. I sand them and call it a day.

I must agree, lawn darts were much more exciting....

  • As a kid, around 7 years old and probably hopped up on sugar, I put one of those Jarts lawn darts through my foot (you would throw the ones on deck into the dirt). Made a nice hole and you could see the bone. Healed up good as new in no time. My parents didn't have a litigious bone in their bodies. What a wasted opportunity :D

I don't get all the hype either, it's just horseshoes.

Then again, if you're going to go drink your face off in a parking lot before a sporting event, you can't really hammer horseshoe stakes into the asphalt. So something portable like this is the next best thing.

But, apparently, they've become tailgater status symbols.
