How does the AVP 2000 compare sound wise for two channel to say a PT5, REf 5 or REf 30? Thanks

I also liked the Ref 5 S2 for simplicity, but you'd need a separate DAC.
To me, the Ref 50, AVR 507, and Ref 5 S2 have similar if not the same sound signature.
I haven't heard the AVP 2000, though.I disabled signatures. -
I have a Ref 30 I dont use. Need to dig it out and listen to it again I think.--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -
Those Refs are cool pieces of gear. Built in DAC, lots of customization power if you use the software and one of the URC remotes. Not too difficult to set up for basic use without the remote once you get the hang of the menu navigation.
I remember when I got my first piece, an AVR 507, I was underwhelmed and hated the display because it wasn't fancy like Pioneer or Yamaha, with all the little icons and cool stuff. That didn't last long, though, and I soon came to greatly appreciate the simplicity of B&K's displays - that beautiful blue - and the ability to customize.
The AVRs are nice and fat sounding with the built in amplification, very pleasing for 2ch with LSiM series speakers. The Ref series preamps and processors pair well with B&K amps, and also with Parasound amps if you want to tune for a bit more detailed and little less laid back sound, while still being punchy and impactful.
tonyb got me turned on to these back when I first started around 2014.I disabled signatures.
