Recommended surrounds to go with my new front stage of lsims?

Hi all. This forum was such a big help last month helping me with my new lsim 706 and 703 front sound stage. I have those in the front and currently have the fxi a4 for side surrounds. I really want to go in wall for the rear surrounds. Couple questions:

1. Do the fxia4 as side surrounds go ok with the lsims in the front or should I consider upgrading to the lsim 702 that are way marked down right now?
2. Looking at Polk in wall for my back 2 speakers...rti 65 vs 65rci? I called crutchfield but had a hard time trusting her advice when she said the in wall rtis would blow away my lsim front sound stage

Thanks for any and all advice!

If you can swing the 702's then match up your speakers, kinda no brainer there.

The rears are going to blow away your front stage? That's pretty laughable. Did she give you a reason why?

For me, the rears matching the fronts perfectly has never bothered me. I have Lsi7's with Lsim705's and am fine with it. As long as you're calibrated properly all should be well. I'm assuming you're more HT?
  • Thanks for the response. Makes me feel better that she indeed didn’t know what she was talking about. So I’m leaning to just sticking with the fxia4 for sides. Thoughts on if the rt or rc in walls would better match?

I wouldn't worry about matching either. I have vintage Polks with dome tweeters up front and vintage Infinitys with ribbon esque tweeters in back, very different speakers, sounds fine.
