What speakers do I need for Atmos on 5.1 setup with denon 3500h?
I have a 5.1 setup with 4 s15, 1 s30, and sub connected to a denon 3500h. I would like to go atoms, what speakers do I need? And how should I set it up the atoms speakers physically?

Personally I don’t think atmos is all that UNLESS you can really implement it well in an already really good system. I would personally put that money into upgrading my mains: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/polk-audio-polk-signature-series-s55-floor-standing-speaker-american-hifi-surround-sound-for-tv-music-and-movies-black/5507266.p?skuId=5507266&ref=212&loc=1
If you insist on doing atmos, in ceiling speakers are best. If you can’t do that, get 4 s10s and mount them to the ceiling pointed down slightly angled towards the listening position.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

@rooftop59 Thanks for the suggestion. Just to be clear atmos is made with additional speakers, not special speakers right?

Yes, but they are supposed to be down firing from the ceiling.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Some also go on top of mains.

Yes but I think those are really not worth the effort. Has anyone had a positive experience with upfiring atmos speakers? Perhaps that is what the OP should be asking.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

@pitdogg2 any suggestions of specific upfiring speakers?

No personally I think atmos is over kill in residential unless you have a huge room. In the past I've been totally happy with 6.2 or 8.2 configuration.

I have a Denon X3600 and bought Canton Atmos speakers to set on top of my Revel towers. Frankly, a waste of money.
