Materials Question - PVC vs Polyethylene

Hey guys, any of you know about materials like PVC and Polyethylene?
I'm trying to find some rubbery leveling feet in 1/4-20 and it's proving a bit more difficult than I'd expect. Looking for something non-slippy.
I found these on woodworkerexpress.com, but I'm thinking these are both a type of hard plastic. Not sure. I'm waiting to hear back from the shop.

Also looking for modest spikes in this size, too, and not turning up a whole lot. Seems like most everything is metric and M6 (close) or M8.

Thanks Ivan. Good bunch of stuff, but not seeing much in the way of feets.I disabled signatures.

Call them tell them what you're looking for. They may just have something and they'll send out a sample free of charge.

Another question - for subs, you guys like spikes or squish?I disabled signatures.

I spike mine.
-
I set mine on those little blue sammiches.

I do like those -- but I also still like hockey pucks.
Don Rickles would be so proud.

The astute observer should espy two sets of hockey pucks in the photo above, e.g.

Depends what the floor material is. On carpet I use spikes. On a hard surface like tile I use rubber. I'm really not sure why a lot of subs come with feet that are only 1/2" tall as they are worthless. Subs sound better a few inches off the floor, especially if they fire down.Political Correctness'.........defined

Morse code machine on bottom left?Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -
Bottom left?
That, sir, is a gen-u-ine @ALL212 two-channel implementation of a Nelson Pass Amp Camp Amp.

His photos of it are better'n any of mine

Roger that. Thanks for sharing. How do you like it's sound/tone?Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -
It doesn't quite have the midrange thereness of single-ended 2A3, but it is a good sounding amplifier from top to bottom given its extremely modest (basic) cost and profound simplicity. Bass is a little fuller than my SE 2A3 amp.
I'd recommend the ACA in a heartbeat for anyone who wants to build something simple enough to understand and good enough to be worth the time, effort & expense. Do bear in mind that it's only a few watts per channel -- 5 or 6-ish @ reasonable distortion levels... I think the current ACA morph is slightly more powerful than the original version Pass designed.
I should mention that this amp was in fact purchased by another Club Polk member (who may wish to be anonymous) and then sent to me -- an act of kindness and generosity for which I am hard-pressed to articulate my thanks and appreciation There are some wonderful, wonderful folks on this forum.
Oops, sorry @msg for the digression!
PS @mrbiron -- the above-mentioned ACA is still looking forward to spending some quality time @ your house, if you can pull yourself away from that John Deere long enough to crank up some toons!
PPS seventy-threes.

We both know, it will be a cold day in NH when i actually get up that way. Especially now that we are coming into the hunker down season. you can always shiiiiiippppppp....
As for the new love interest in my life, JD 1025R, i go through separation anxieties, not being able to see her, even when i blink...Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
Yeah -- I actually have been meaning to pack it properly and just toss 'er in the post. The road to h-e-double-hockeysticks, though, is paved with good intentions, as you may be aware.
As to that other matter -- orange is the new green and yellow. Just sayin'

That's our town administrator drivin' the somewhat resto-modded JD in the photo above -- from a Fourth of July parade a few years back... you know, when we could gather in public, maskless, and stuff... ).

I'm trying an experiment. I ordered these gwitwar amp cabinet feets from the Amazons.
My plan is to pick up some stainless 1/4-20 Allen screws, along with some large washers and nuts. Possibly two nuts each assy, so I can have a jam nut to control the height. I'll assemble these parts to make threaded feet of my own that I can use for leveling.
Bolt
(washer)
Guitar Amp Foot
(large washer)
Nut
(maybe a second nut here to use as a jam nut)
I'm going to try to find some 1/4-20 spikes to try out too, but will start with these.
Once I get situated, I'll play around a bit with isolation vs coupling.

The sub came with these feet. A little squishy.
Another sub came with these. Also a little squishy.

Another idea I had was to drill out these existing 1/4-20 inserts, and replace them with something newer and larger, like what comes in the spike kits I've been seeing around, which seem to be M8. and beefier than the 1/4-20 feet currently on it. This is a pretty small sub by comparison to some others out there, at around 16".
This is one of the feet on the platform/ring used on the convertible MartinLogan Abyss 12" subwoofer. By inserting this platform over either the driver or the amp panel, you control the configuration, either down-firing or front-firing, respectively.

Support at Woodworker express just got back to me saying that for the foot I referenced, the polyethylene is the rubbery part, so I'm just going to try a set of those for now.
Should be similar to the feet from the other sub.

Nevermind, I remembered. And don't you forget it!Post edited by msg onI disabled signatures.
