Polk RT7 upgrade

I love the sound of my Polk RT7s with my Pioneer SX-828. I replaced a blown woofer on 1 speaker along with the crossover (NOS), and I was amazed at the change in sound. This made me realize how important the crossover is. So I’m turning to this forum to see if anyone has any suggestions for caps and coils to replace the originals with on my crossover board with upgraded parts to improve the sound.

Without having any personal experience with the RT series but applying the general process, I'd consider replacing the 2.2uf and 9uf capacitors with Sonicap Gen1 200WV film capacitors, forget about the 0.47 C2 mylar bypass cap (try it in or remove it) and replace the 1.0 Ohm sandcast resistor with a 12 Watt 1.0 Ohm Vishay/Mills resistor to start.

There are lots of options for the coils but I'd do the caps first and see what that sounds like. -
Hey Steve,
I really appreciate the advice!
So, should I replace the 0.47 C2 mylar bypass cap? If so, what should I replace it with?
Many thanks again! -
Designers often used low value bypass capacitors to improve the performance of electrolytic capacitors. If you replace C3 with a 9uf film you may find that the bypass is unnecessary. Or you can continue to use the original mylar bypass with the new cap.
