Mirage M3 tweeters out Need to replace Not sure what to do

I had three tweeters go bad on my Mirage M3 due to a ground problem on the outputs of a preamp They are the3/4 soft dome 53025 made in Canada Best part is you take the sticker off and it says made in Japan 53018. Parts Express and others have one that looks exactly like in every way except for a silver coating on the fabric dome They are old AR units for their Holographic line . The FR on them is 4500 to 20k but the Xover on the M3 is 2200HZ. A guy on Audiogon says he put a couple in one of his speakers and that it sounds the same as the other stock speaker. Hmm I have owned countless speakers and the Mirage M3 is one of the best hands down so I do not want to just throw anything in there but I may be limited as to what I can do. Not sure what to do but this is very depressing Ideas?? Thanks

    B)

I just bought some beautiful used Vifa (?...could be knock-offs too ) tweeters from eBay to replace some older Vifa tweeters that were slightly to seriously damaged.

Of course they had to come across the country to get here.

But after putting them in...they sound pretty darn good! I bought these speakers from a yard-sale. The man had passed and they wanted 5.00 for the pr.. I gave her 20.

This design was VERY popular 15+ years ago. I think it uses a 6-1/2" Vifa woofer and 1" Vifa tweeter in a good sized ported box.

I've jammed for a couple of afternoons and evenings. Sade and Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs CDs plus others.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
