Is there an advantage to upgrading a router power supply?

I have an ifi iPower sms that might run my router, I got it for something else that it didn't work on. I figured I would ask here before I return it. It's nib because I got two just in case my experiment worked.

Good question, and sounds like something I think maybe DK may have tested in the past? No personal experience here.

I think @ALL212 tested some ethernet cables not too long ago, too.

If you have audio components connected over ethernet to your wifi router, maybe worth checking out.

I'd be curious to see whether it does anything for the signal, though maybe adjusting your wifi channels to be a bit offset from neighboring access points might be something else to look into as well. There are apps you can use to survey local wifi near you for this purpose.

Are we talking plunge routers, bench, or free-hand?

@msg, I got two of the same unit, one for my cheap TT (which is fine) and the other to try on my NAS (which it's not). I probably should return it an take a shot at the DC iPurifier that cost twice as much. You got some links for me to look at?

My experience is that any improvement in the power supply chain yields an improvement in sound quality and this is true with analog or digital.

    so many connections...

WIFI is a chain, many potential weak links!

    Are you having wifi issues?
It would be best to start with analysis of your wifi before starting.

On the other hand plug it in - see what happens!
