Hey,
Have you tried moving the lamp and flexy rack beside the TV, and putting the RTi8 on the outside of them, spreading them out?

Something tells me that spreading them out, getting them farther away from the center would do wonders...

Just a suggestion..

Well gent’s thanks for the advice. I'll move the speakers out more, I’m sure its a common newbie mistake. :) As for the wall it’s actually light grayish silver. I wanted dark but the wife wouldn’t go for it. :(

I tried putting the speakers on the other side of the light and the rack but moved them back because they weren't evenly distanced from the TV.

    Would that make a difference?

    No -

My left main is right beside the tv, and the right main is about 3-4 feet from the TV.

You will have to 'experiment' with angles *while you sit in your 'sweetspot'*

I think you will notice a big difference in clarity and soundstage if you spread them apart.

If you have room, move them about 3 feet on each side from the center... (if not more)

I liked it better before. More sense of symmetry. It all falls on the right now. The bare wall just doesn't do it for me either. It has the potential to be a very aesthetically pleasing setup though!

Yeah, sorry, just got home from work. Back to what counts. Is there any way you can make the left front the same distance from the center as the right front?

I guess moving the tv isnt an option...

Move the lamp -- to the other side of the left main ---- and it would even more out (just a thought)

Here's the problem with the left speaker: If I move it out anymore to the left it'll be right in front of 6 inch load bearing pole (damn basement). I tried removing the pole from the picture, hence the angle of the photo. :)

But I agree, looks wise, it looked better before.

I don't know where your sweet spot or favorite place to listen from is, but, this is what I do. I have my rack on one side of the TV and the sub on the other. Then, my fronts lateral to each of those. Could you do the same? Move your sub to the left side of your TV, slide your TV, rack, and right front more right, and then that way your left would be more or less equidistant from your TV?

The TV and center channel are exactly in the center of the room and my sweet spot. The reason I have my sub and rack on the right is because there is a door to the left of the left speaker and lamp, so I’m really tight for space, not to mention that damn pole.

Just checking. Sid, its not like he can't move it back. My sub, for example, sounds better next to the TV, worse in the corner.

    True...

    Hmm...

    How is the side wall?

    Can you change positions?

The basement is the biggest room in the house and as you can see from this picture the most difficult to work with. My current setup is the only one possible, I’ve been pondering for months and then my wife told me "no you can't tear down that built in shelf". I appreciate everyone for trying to help, but I believe I’m a lost cause.

I hope to be moving into a new house in the new year and trust me boys there's going to be a dedicated screening room. :)

    DANG....lol what a place to put a pole...lol

What is it under? -- you have it in the only place that I can see.

Although I wouldnt cancel out the switch between the rti8 and lamp either, I would try it just to see how it all works out, you may be surprised. My right main fires into my desk...the imaging, detail is still stellar... (unless the pole is just friggin huge)

    Just a thought

Well next time I watch Fight Club, which I fallen in love with again after getting my new system, I’ll try moving the speaker out more and see how it sounds.
