Yeah, bad deal. Van Halen was my introduction to hard rock- outside of Led Zeppelin.
He will be missed.
@pitdogg2 yep -
Once of my most vivid memories from my youth was buying the first Van Halen album in 1978, looking at front and back cover thinking how cool is that, unwrapping it, then putting it on my Pioneer turntable playing it and thinking holy crap this is something incredible. RIP Eddie.

Those early VH albums were way under rated imo. RIP to a legend. 1984 was one of those albums that launch me into this hobby as a youth.

RIP, what a shame

This is heartbreaking. I fell in love with VH in 1979, and they were the first "real" band I ever saw in concert. Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get any worse.
RIP EddieSo, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

RIP. Incredible talent. Saw them live on the 1984 tour. Never will forget it.

He went to the edge...and he stood and looked down...he lost a lot of friends there.
I know he says "I".
One of my favorite passages, ever!
Yup...his and the groups songs got played many times as test tracks when I'd bring new stereo stuff home.
I need to re-visit those songs soon.
Thanks for the music Eddie!
God needed an awesome guitarist up there.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

RIP Eddie
I remember seeing them at the Met Center in Bloomington, MN and Roth was stumbling around the stage holding a bottle of Jack Daniels and trying to sing and finally blurted out, " I'm so f'd up I can't remember the lyrics". Eddie definitely carried the show. -
-
I have to wonder if he and Sammy ever cleared their differences before he passed. RIP
-
Saw him/them live on the VH2, Women and Children First, and Fair Warning tours. All great shows. What a huge loss. He certainly raised the bar. RIP
-
Seen VanHagar on the 5150 tour two nights in the mid 80's two of the 3 nights in St. Louis Mo. Two of the best nights ever great concert.

Don't smoke !!!!If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

Sammy Hagar is definitely better live than David Lee Roth. -
Saw VH in 1979, I think this was their first tour.
