Connecting Signa S2 to TV

Hello,
I recently bought this setup https://www.bestbuy.com/site/polk-audio-signa-s2-ultra-slim-tv-sound-bar-with-wireless-subwoofer--works-with-4k-hd-tvs--bluetooth-enabled-black/6294107.p?skuId=6294107
And my TV does not have an optical port or ARC. I went and bought an aux to rca cable today thinking this would be it.
Hooked it up and nothing. I tried using the same aux to rca cables on the tv in my room (which is newer) and it also did not work.
The TV in my roomer is newer, so I thought maybe the ports were damaged on the living room tv, but the cables didnt work on either tv.
Thoughts on what could be wrong?

Question, are you changing the audio settings in the TV? Example; to external audio output.
