My daughter's car was stolen like 2 days ago. It has been recovered after a chase and the perp is or was in custody, who know She's in CA. Interesting that her car was identified by the plate being read by a big brother camera and the cops were alerted social workers were no help. Anyway I am looking at these trackers for her and myself for that matter. Has anyone use one of these doohikies?

Police have direct access to lojack. Unless you want to take matters into your own hands it's probably the best route. An alarm is a good idea as well, I have a Compustar in my car. Compustar also offers sending alerts to and controlling the alarm from your phone if you want.

Some police cars have cameras mounted at all four corners that read plates as the drive around. Some repo companies use the same thing on thier tow trucks.
I've seen the system in action while working Border Patrol Check Points in AZ. -
@afterburnt - Not sure how to post a link, but I spent seven years as an upfitter (certified EVT) and manager of a shop that builds first responder vehicles.
We had very good luck with US Fleet gps systems. They’re stuff is good for civvie use too. -

I found a site but it's not set up for e-commerce, I guess you have to call em but I don't like talking to people. -
BTW my daughter retrieved her car and she almost wishes it wasn't recovered. Beyond all the busted stuff she said she will probably never get rid of the stench of beer, weed, and BO.

Stealing cars should be like stealing horses back in the old West.

Sell it to Russ, he won't notice the smell. He'll feel right at home. -
