I have a pair of the RT1000i 's and I am trying to choose some nice surround speakers I'm not one for wall mount or stand speakers I like towers. Is there any towers that you would recommend for rear surrounds? The ones I have in mind are the RT600i.Please help I'm new to this.

Thanks

    sounds great.

If your buget allows, another pair of 1000i's would work nicely as well. ;)

Another pair of RT1000i can be arranged ,but I was told it would be a waste because only 15% of my signal goes to the rear speakers. Is that a true statement?

    BigD-

Even the most aggressive 5.1 soundtrack, does in fact, send a much smaller percentage of information to the rears.
I think another set of 1000's would fall asleep.
Since their subs would not receive much action.
If you refuse to get fx500's or rt25..35's,
    get a set of 800's.
At least your drivers would match those of your 1000's.
And if you decided to connect them to your B-side channel, (such as I did) you would find a sweet blend of more mids and highs mixing with the bass of your 1000's.

    Big D-

I was thinking about other considerations than just DD/DTS 5.1. I listen to a lot of music on my system and have a 5-channel stereo mode on the onk. 676 receiver that I like to listen to. This DSP mode supplies equal power to all 5 channels - so you can imagine how great it would sound with nice full range surrounds that matched the mains.

If your only concern is DD/DTS 5.1 then yes, they may be under utilized.

another vote for the 800i's, if you don't want to go with f/x500's or 35i's...

I'd say 35's or the 800's...unless you can find the 1000's open box and get a realy good discount..wich will probably comming up soon with the roll-out of the newer rt's.... I have 800's for surrounds with my 2000i's and they work great.!
