Hello from the Mexican Caribbean...

Just got back from a week long cruise. The Mayan Riviera... Costa Maya, Cozumel, Chichen Itza, Belize C.A. , Progresso. Went tubing through rain forests and caves in Belize, snorkeled the reefs, visited Myan ruins, swam in the clear waters. Sat on the white sand beach under the trees where some of the Corona commercials are filmed. Ate too much, saw a lot of live bands of various styles (some pretty good...some pretty bad). Drank a little...avoided the gambling. No sunburn! Enjoyed the sights...especially by the pools and beaches. Missed the stereo...but it is amazing how good a little Panasonic CD player with a good pair of Sennheiser headphones can sound when you're on the deck of a ship or a Caribbean beach! Here are a couple of pics so you all can see what you weren't doing (and I was :D).....

    The first was Costa Maya...here is a pretty good restaurant and bar in Belize...

    What was the name of the ship you were on? I think I went on the exact same cruise this winter. It was awesome!

    Lots of fish...NO MERMAIDS :( ! However, there were some fine looking women wearing next to nothing at the pools and on the beaches. There were also some UGLY women wearing next to nothing :confused:.

    And another thing...what's with all the girls and their tatoos? Backs, butts, legs, stomachs, arms, ****... Something small and discrete, maybe...but we're talking biker/sailor quality here. I guess I'm just old school...but bikinis (thongs) and tatoos just don't work for me. Kinda like sticking a billboard in the middle of that beautiful water....it spoils the natural beauty and shouldn't be there.

    I just got back as well May 15-22 from the mayan riviera, I stayed at Iberostar Lindo about 30km south of cancun. Also went to the ruins you mentioned and did snorkling and a lot of laying out. Water down there is great and so was the weather. I have way to many pics of that place, 400 or so to be exact. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to go south. Iberostar hotels are 1st class at least the Lindo is.
