Power Port Add On?

I've got a Polk CSR center channel speaker with a rear port. Would it be possible to add on a power port to the back to improve bass response? They just appear to be screwed on to the back of the speaker.

There are more physics and engineering in it that just **** a plate on to the back of the speaker.

The port is tuned for a specific frequency using length/diameter of the port. The port is also sized accordingly to keep port noise/velocity within a certain parameter.

As an extension of that, the power port is engineered to be part of that whole "system".

So, would it be possible? Yes...anything is possible with enough ambition, tools and knowledge.
Is it going to improve your bass response? I wouldn't bank on it improving anything and possibly making things worse.
