Hi, Looking for advice on possibly replacing my Front speakers. I feel like they aren't quite cutting it .. not sure how to describe it .. like not full sounding enough.
I do not want to have to buy a separate amp to power my fronts.
MY CURRENT SETUP:
- Listening: 80/20 HT/Music
- Room: part of an open spaced finished basement. Open listening area is 20' wide x 15' deep
- Receiver: Denon x4300h (9 x 125w, 8 ohms, 20Hz~20kHz, 0.05%THD)
- Speakers (5.4.2):
---- Fronts: Polk Audio RTiA1 [TARGETING REPLACEMENT]
---- Center: Polk Audio CSiA6
---- Rears & Top-Back Atmos: Definitive Technology ProMonitor 1000
---- Top-Front Atmos: Pioneer SP-T22A-LR
---- Subs: SVS-PB1000 (2 of them)
- TV: Vizio m75-E1 (4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, 60hz)
- Media Player: Nvidia Shield Pro 2019
Replacing Fronts - my ideas so far:
- Polk Audio RTiA3 (larger bookshelf)
- Polk Audio RTiA5 (tower)
- Polk Audio Signature s20 (bookshelf)
- Polk Audio Signature s50 (tower)
- Polk Audio Signature s55 (tower larger)

Since you plan on keeping the center, best to match it with the same series of speakers. The RTiA towers would be my choice. Especially so since your primary use is for home theater. You already have good subwoofers so no need to get the biggest towers.
The Signature line would be my first choice if starting from scratch and replacing the center speaker too. It's especially important to match the front three speakers for home theater use. The rear speakers don't matter as much.
On the other hand, if using the Pioneer speakers for Atmos, the Signature line may be a closer match to those than the RTiA line. Polk has not done Atmos modules in speakers until the Legend line, but those require outboard amplification from a receiver and are expensive. -
Thank you.
Given that I already have RTiA1 as fronts in my setup with good subs, will the RTiA3 improve sound as a replacement?
And will RTiA5 improve upon that even further?
Lastly, would the RTiA5 be sufficiently powered without me needing an additional amp?

I think the RTiA5 is your sweet spot. Doesn’t need an amp, but will be a clear improvement over the 1s, and is the best match for your center channel. You will only see a very marginal improvement with the 3s, I’ve been down that path...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es
