Well I never knew Mac owned them....

This is very interesting. It sounds like there must have been some internal conflicts on direction for the brand, but I also wonder if McIntosh was failing to convert sales under a larger corporate model.
I will say I'd much rather see something like this happen than what big companies normally do, which is water brands down until they are unrecognizable and then kill off the brand for lack of sales. A transaction like this could breath old magic and new life back into the brand.Analog: MoFi MasterTracker > MoFi UltraDeck > Sutherland 20/20
Digital: Cambridge CXC / Streaming > Cambridge CXN v2
MastersounD Dueventi > Rosso Fiorentino Certaldo or Arcam rHead > Hifiman HE4XX

I believe the brand will be all the better for it.

Yea, sounds like a good plan, these real high end brands are better off under focused dictatorships! The reliability has fallen off in the last 10 years! We will see!!

Trent bought it, he initially sold it, I guess now he has the capital to buy it. Good for him.... and I believe he is focused on only ARC, so that's good for the brand.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R

The truth has never been said better, and it applies to many types of businesses.
