    It amazes me what goes on behind the scenes of big companies.

    Kind-of similar in a way;
    Our mortgage loan was sold about 3 times before we paid it off. Nothing ever changed except who the check went to. :)

    The HUGE Co. that my wife works for has changed hands about 4 or 5 times. Same name...just different owners and their board of directors making some changes each and every time of course.

    Oh, I worked for a Co. that DID change names when bought by the new BIGGER Co.. That was a great thing for all of us employees. ;) We were treated a lot better by the new Co. 5 fold. B) I'm so glad I worked for that Company for about 7 years!
    Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    Banks and mortgages.

    My long-time best friend (now retired) used to be president of a small savings bank (3 brances) in East Baltimore.
    One day, years ago - when he was a VP, we were hanging out at the bank on a Friday afternoon (before taking off for some sort of festivities). I noticed a box of manilla folders with addresses written on them. The weird part -- one of folders was labeled with my thesis advisor's address! Now, he lived on the other side of Baltimore, in Baltimore county, so I thought this was odd. My friend said, "those are a bunch of mortgages we just bought".

    My best friend's bank owned my PhD advisor's mortgage.

    cool.
