Polk sub psw505 stopped working

While watching a movie at a normal volume I heard my sub distorting for about 10 seconds and then it stopped working. It now will only work intermittently. After trying to determine what was going on by replacing speaker wires, the green light will now not turn on in the on mode. I do have a constant red light, but no sound. Is this a sub issue or a signal in issue? Any help would be appreciated.

    The plate amp is toast. Buy a new sub.

    505 sub won't turn on, fuse is good very disappointed!
