Upgrade for Desktop Speakers

Waddya have for $75 or less that's at least decent looking but working very well.
Black cabinets/grills only. Highly musical, not HT grade. Minimum 5-inch mid-woofer.
Below the desk, bass is nicely provided by an M&K VX-7B.
Will drive them with a Rega Mira2000. 4-6 Ohm preferred.
The bottom of my monitor is 10.25", so the top of the tweeter (not cabinet) has to be less than 10". Still, I know it's a tall order. ;-)

My short list at the moment that I've located and considering but not heard/tested includes a/d/s L600C, M&K LCR-55, and Polk S15s. Like the idea of having M&K above and below.
Also welcome feedback on these and other suggestions.
Expect that there will be bumps in the road. Choose to not let them rattle you.

Polk - Monitor 10As, SDA 2Bs, LSi9s, White RTi4s, S4s, M3s, various centers.
Boston - CR7, CR6s, CR4s.
Subs - M&K V4, M&K VX-7B, JBL SUB150P, Jamo Sub 250, and others.

Are you offering these for $75 or suggesting them?

Just a suggestion to look into. I don’t know how much they sell for on the used market.

If you are looking for speakers that are $75 a pair and still worth listening to, good luck.

Not chasing a high-end "listening experience" on my desktop. Merely want to improve the sound.

    Appreciate the feedback and suggestion.

Reading up on them, that looks like a top option. Thank you. I'll watch for them.
I have RT35i's at GFs house. I must've stumbled onto the right path once.

Thinning the herd and have a pair of Boston CR55's that might work for you. Sound pretty nice, especially if paired with a decent sub.

Boston CRs are from what I'm upgrading, but thank you. I've heard the CRx5 series.

I’ve owned both the 35is and 25is. Other that bass extension, the 25is are superior. Very clean midrange, decent treble extension, air and sparkle, the bass that is there is nice and tight. Unlike some later Polk bookies, the 25is don’t over accentuate any frequency. Slightly warmish, but a well balanced and musical little speaker in the right sized room...

Agreed about the loose 35i bass. It might probably improve with a tighter amp. I've wanted to replace them for that reason, but the trouble is they fit the space she's allowed for the system to the 1/4 inch. :sigh:
