I am consider getting rid of my 2012 Goldwing. Not enjoying the ride as much as I thought. Since I love Toyota reliability I am considering a 2000-2005 Toyota MR2. Any thoughts or experiences?
Thanks. D

My dad has a manual '02 that's pretty heavily modded. I've driven it a few times and loved every minute. Such a fun car! Highly recommended.
Even stock, they are simply a lot of fun to drive. -
turbo or no turbo? rag top? they are a lot of fun to drive...be great for the trip to Red Wing on the roller coaster hills.....then a ride around Lake Pepin...

Mister Twos are fun if you can fit.

MR2's being mid engine are like driving go carts. They are very nimble and if you can get the HP up they are very fast and stable... The turbo versions are the most desirable.
I recall a guy a few years back that turned his into a 180 mph racing machine. But I think you are looking at the MR2 Spyder because the cool ones were disco'd in 1995 ish.
They were called the poor man's Ferrari

Yep, people who never owned one are just realizing what a great sports car the S2K’s are. A real sports car and one of the finest ever produced. It does everything right, period.

What about a nice Miata just for scratching the tops of audio gear you transport on the passenger floorboard?I disabled signatures.

I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
I like Miatas. They make me feel pretty. OK?
ahem -- on topic: The neighbor boys (OK, the two young adult children of our farmer-neighbors) bought a beater MR2 and fixed it up a couple of years ago. Cool little automobiles.
Gotta be better than a Fiero, right?

Snap oversteer much?
Joking aside, I think an MR2 would be great fun. I personally want a Miata, mostly because I’m probably not a good enough driver yet to drive a car as (relatively speaking) demanding as an MR2.
S2000s are crazy expensive. There was a trashy one on my local craigslist for like 10 grand, simply ludicrous. And given how quickly it vanished, he successfully sold it.
Another fun and fairly affordable car could be a Porsche 944 (non-Turbo). Cheap, relatively plentiful, easy to work on, and since there are so many, parts are not THAT expensive (not Miata prices for parts, but not expensive.) However, that one may require a bit more dedication than the Toyota or Mazda. Although it’d be much cooler than a Miata

Honda swapped MR2 doing close to 160mph in the quarter. And a huge sketchy wheelie at the end.

It's actually tough to find ones that are stock and un-molested like this. Price is a bit high. I'd offer 7k and see if it takes it. -
