Nubie PSW303 Setup
Ok, I now have R30's for my front and a PSW303 sub (rears and center to come later).
What settings should I set my Integra 5.4 dtr to? Front large or small? Sub on or off?
Crossover 80 or 60?
There is only one sub-out from the receiver. What do I connect this to on the 303, Line in (with y adapter) or LFE? What should phase be 0 or 180? Power- on or auto? When is the crossover knob used? When is the volume knob used?
I don't want to run my speakers via the sub amp so they will be connected to the receiver. Is this a problem?
Does the sub point toward the corner or toward the audience?
Thanks for helping out.

Now, I know there are plenty of people who may have a different opinion about subwoofer settings, but if it were me I would do the following with that setup:
Speakers: Large
Subwoofer: On
Crossover: 80hz
Subwoofer pointed away from the wall at audience, near the center of the front stage.
Connection: LFE (This would make the subwoofer be powered by its own amp, but that is the best way to hook it up.)
Power: auto
The crossover knob is only necessary if you use something other than the LFE jack. The volume should be set to your preference.
The phase switch is something you should experiment with and decide on your own. I don't think there's a standard setting for the phase switch. I used to have it at 180 but now I like it at 0.
Hope that helps a bit.Home:

That was very informative, thanks. I guess I should not be attached to the current performance until I get all the pieces together.
Some places state to have the x-over at 100 while others say go down to 60. Quite a few say the standard 80. What should I set it too if I really just want a good rumble of a movie like Lord Of The Rings? What should it be when listening to music?
Anyone have more than one subwoofer hooked up? Are two of the same model better than a bigger model? How about two different subs in a system?Center-CSI3 Mains-R50 Rears-R30

I think setting the crossover point is really going to depend on what you set your front speakers to (large/small) and how deep they go and how well they can do it. Have some fun with it. Mess around with placement and settings. Try large, small, speaker position, sub position, crossover settings until you find one you really like. No one will be cranky if you don't get it right at first! Just have fun with it.

Thanks for all the good info. Just wanted to say sorry for not posting in the right area. I will repost in the subhookup and keep the current suggestions in mind.
Thanks again.Center-CSI3 Mains-R50 Rears-R30
